Water, Bikes and Marshmellows

We have had an very eventful weekend and its only Saturday!! My trip went well and while I was gone the boys got out the slip-n-slide and had some fun. Thankfully William is just as obessed with the camera as I am and snagged some pictures.Friday was so relaxing that we just didn't really do much. I took my cousin to get some things done and we just hung out. Now, today on the other hand has been so busy and fun filled that I'm having a hard time even typing because I'm so tired. :) We started the day by going garage saling. And can I just add that I'm a little disappointed in the garage sales this year. I don't know if its that I'm not looking for anything in particular or if its that there really just aren't many out there. BUT...I did have one really good find today....

Yes....BIKES!!! And the picture doesn't do them justice. Just take my word that they are nice. :) William and I have been wanting bikes for 2 years now but haven't wanted to spend the money on new ones. So we have been looking at garage sales, but with the gas prices going up people just haven't been wanting to sell them. When I saw these I thought it was too good to be true. They are only a couple years old and in really nice condition! They even have the comfy gel seats! YAY!! I know, silly me. haha And the best part is...I only paid $30 total!!! We are so excited to take our first family bike ride!

Okay so I'm going to still be talking about bikes but I thought this deserved its special paragraph! hahaha Apparently Isaac decided that when he turned 4 things just had to change. He told us today that he wanted his training wheels off his bike. Yeah I know, CRAZY! Now mind you that he has done this before (last year) and he wanted them right back on. But I could sense that today was different. So we humored him and took them off. This is what came of it....

Isaac can now officially ride a two wheeler!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!! This happened very quickly. Apparently he is the type of child that when he decides hes going to do something he does it! WAY TO GO!!! William spent the entire morning helping him and by the evening he had it down and told his dad that he wanted to learn how to start himself too. It got to the point where William was just pushing him and he would go, but Isaac decided that he wanted to be independent and learn to do it. During this process Isaac was having so much fun, but was obviously still nervous and was gripping the handle bars really tight and so we had to take breaks for the hands. When he would get off the bike he would be shaking so bad he couldn't get his helmet off, but then would want to get right back on! He rode his bike for about 3 hours tonight and then had to call everyone and tell them. We are so proud of him!! By the way...Weston is trying and Isaac gave him a pep talk tonight before it was his turn. Oh, and I recorded Isaac for proof, but I don't know how to upload a video but I'm working on it. I also have to say how proud of William I am and how out of shape I am! I tried to help Isaac this evening and I went back and forth ONCE and was exhausted, I don't know how he did that all day! Impressive!

Tonight we were all tired out so we thought we would sit around the fire pit and roast some marshmellows and just hang out. Can I just say that we need to do that more often. It was so nice. Weston decided that he would go in and get the flashlight and a book so we could read before bed around the fire. What an amazing idea! It was so much fun!

Apparently Mason feet were cold! hahaha

Weston reading us a bedtime story.
Isaac and William listening to the story.

Alright, If I don't go to bed I'm never gonna get up in the morning for church. I can barely keep my eyes open. I hope everyone has a great Fathers Day tomorrow. I will be posting more tomorrow as the boys bought something special for William, but I don't want to run the risk of him seeing this before tomorrow. Yeah, I know, like he's gonna wake up at 1am and go I need to check Aprils blog. haha

I'll just keep you in suspense! haha

What a sweet family you have! My husband would be so impressed with Isaac's determination. (My husband is a bike enthusiast!)

How fun! All you mommies with older kids make me so excited for these milestones. I can hear the pride and excitement in your words. :) It's so cool! Way to go, Isaac, and keep it up, Weston! :) Let's get together soon, yes?

It looks like you guys had some great fun! Awesome deal on those bikes too! Leo and I have two bikes but we never get the opportunity to ride them much right now. Soon enough, I hope we will be able to! I hope you have caught up on your rest. It can be really hard when you throw your routine off.

Lindsey I'd love to get together. Just say when. :)

My cousin has left to go visit her family in Illinios for a couple weeks (we got everything done very quickly) so I am hoping to get recharged and caught up on some rest these next couple days. And get out and enjoy the sunshine with the kids...maybe even a bike ride. :)

Hope to see some of ya!
