We have been doing a TON, and I mean a TON, of demolishing and building this weekend!
When we bought this house it had a huge shed, one that eventually just started collecting junk. And when I say huge...I mean it. We measured it and it was a big as Masons bedroom. And I am so not kidding. :)

Well, I have wanted that shed down for years!! This weekend (Friday) I finally got tired of looking at it and thinking, well when we get more help or more time or whatever other excuses I could find. I was ready to just rip it to shreds. Literally.
haha Ok, so....
thats exactly what we did!

Towards the end we encountered a problem. How were we going to get the roof off now that it was too unstable to stand on because we ripped the sides off? Can I just say that it was like a mini home extreme makeover. What does she mean by that you ask???

YES...we literally pushed it down!!
hahaha It was the coolest thing ever to watch. The kids LOVED it! :) I am so thankful that we took the sides off first though. Who ever built this thing built it to last. Our neighbor joked that it was probably safer in a tornado than our houses. It was put together
very well. There were so many nails though and the roof was built like a real roof. It was insane. There would have been no way for us to have taken that apart while standing on top of it. But it would have been fun to watch.
hahahaSo I'm sure your all thinking why on earth is she taking that down if its that nice? Or maybe your not, but I'm gonna tell ya anyway. :) We bought a wooden swing set a couple years back and regreted it the minute we brought it home. It fell apart so easy and when you would swing, it would move back and forth. And I'm not talking about the swing moving (haha), but the whole swing set would move! Not cool, right? So we have wanted to build a nicer or more stronger one ever since. And if the shed was down then we could put it there so it wouldn't be in the middle of our yard. So by the end of Friday that shed was down!! Oh, side notes, 1) all of the interior wood from the shed was treated so we could use it for the swing set (yay) and 2) the floor of the shed was built like a deck, literally, cross beams and everything... very sturdy. So we moved it to use as a deck and are going to add benches and railings once our pocketbook recovers from this. :)

On Saturday the building process began! The
swingset was going up and I was determined that it was going to be fully up by the end of the day! Impossible?? I think not! :) There were a couple times where I started to doubt myself, but at 10:00pm the last nail went in.

The kids could not control themselves! They just had to play on it before we went in. Oh, and I can even swing on it and it doesn't go anywhere! Woo
Hoo!! When we were building the swing set the twins were being very creative with the wood that was laying all over the yard. Who needs a
swingset, just give 'em 2 by 4's.
hahaA fire pit.

A balance beam.

An obstacle course.
A teder toder. (sp.?)

An airplane (with a gun on the front).

Lastly...a ladder. Try climbing that one. :)

So Sunday we began the landscape. By Sunday we were so exhausted that we could barely even move. And I'm so not kidding. You know that you look exhausted when the guy at Menards says "You look out of it. Are you tired?" Seriously, thanks mister! Like I didn't already know that. :)
We mulched around the swingset (so we wouldn't have to deal with mowing) and finished putting a bench under it so that we could steal Renays wonderful idea of a gravel pit. Tied up a few odd and end things and we were DONE!! Finally!

Play date anyone???
